Mother Dragon with Egg

Mother Dragon with Egg was created in 2003 as part of a two piece set of bronze dragons. The other piece is the Resting Dragon. My original concept for these pieces were for them to be bookend pieces or sold individually. Mother Dragon is protectively studying her egg, her strong limbs and sharp claws so dangerous to an adversary yet very gentle with her young. This little sculpture is mounted on a marble base with a roughly broken edge and polished face.
